The 26th Edition of the “Danilo Re Memorial”  initially planned from Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th of January 2021 in the Les Ecrins, National Park ( France) will not take place.

After important consultations and exchanges within the ALPARC Board, the Danilo Re Steering Group and the Les Ecrins National Park regarding the current evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been decided to shift the Memorial Danilo Re in the Les Ecrins National Park to 2023 as the event 2022 has already been planned in the Swiss Binntal Park.

We regret that the situation doesn’t allow to organise this unique event bringing staff from all the alpine protected areas together during this winter.

Some good news
We are currently exploring options together with the Les Ecrins National Park and the ALPARC council to organise an event in early summer 2021 in the context of the 25th anniversary of Alparc linking both – thematic exchange about topics related to the current crisis and the role and work of protected areas and an outdoor event in the national park allowing a come together of alpine colleagues and friends of the protected areas.

The Memorial Danilo Re consists of:

·   A sports competition (the Throphy itself)

·   A thematic seminar for  protected areas' staff members

·   Friendly and exchanges moments between all participants
